“What are we giving back to the youth? Where are we looking out for their safety and not lock them up? We're the next generation.”
Growing Fairness is a short documentary by Teachers Unite about “growing” restorative justice practices in public schools.
Often, passionate educators lead these cultural shifts in schools. Growing Fairness examines the historical and political context for their resistance. This 44-minute film shares the voices of youth who have seized the opportunity to lead, transforming their schools and themselves in the process.
Growing Fairness was our 2013 response to organizers, youth activists, advocates, and educators across the country requesting resources developed and used by educators that help create a safe school community for all. To celebrate 10 years of Growing Fairness, we’re making the documentary available online for free. We hope you enjoy the film!
